Visiting the Practice

In response to the Covid situation nationally and to protect you and our team we have put in place a new patient journey whilst you visit the practice for treatment. Please familiarise yourself with the steps below, don’t panic our helpful and friendly staff will be on hand to guide you every step of the way. We look forward to seeing you very soon.

One day before your appointment you will be contacted by the dentist using a telephone or an online video consultation.

You will be asked questions about any dental problems so that the dentist can assess what time and what procedures may be needed. You will also be questioned about Covid19 symptoms and asked to consent to the treatment.

Payment for this treatment will be made at this stage by either giving us your card details or via an email we send you with a link to where you can pay on line. Any further payment on your dental visit will need to be contactless, as no cash can be handled in the practice.

On the day of your appointment please arrive on time. If early, you can wait in your car and park at the rear of the building in our car park. Please telephone the number you will be given to let us know you have arrived.

Please do not bring bags or unnecessary clothes and no accompanying person (who would not be allowed in unless you are a parent (This can only be one person with no other family members) or registered carer. Please note: These people will need to be assessed on the day before.

On the day of your appointment please arrive on time. If early, you can wait in your car and park at the rear of the building in our car park. Please telephone the number you will be given to let us know you have arrived.

The front door will be locked until all preparations for your visit are completed. Please do not arrive late because the appointment will have to be cancelled and you will be charged the full fee for the visit.

When you attend no accompanying people are allowed other than one parent or a registered carer. This person will need to be questioned by the dentist about Covid19 the day before the appointment.

At your appointment time, your nurse, will open the front door for you dressed in full protective clothing. She will look like someone from outer space, but do not freak out about this! You will be asked to put on a mask and sanitise your hands using the gel provided.

You will need to place your coat and any belongings in a sealed box. It is helpful if you can keep these items to a minimum.

Your temperature may be taken using a contactless thermometer (again this is nothing to be concerned about), it’s just the new norm!

You will be taken to surgery for treatment.

After treatment, you will be asked to replace the mask and sanitise your hands again with gel. You will then be accompanied to collect your belongings.

After treatment you will need to put back on your face mask. The Nurse will accompany you out to recover your belongings and to sanitise your hands with the hand gel.

If any payment is required it will be made by contactless payement only.

On arriving home, you should immediately shower and wash any clothing to protect other people in your household.

Don’t panic about remembering all of these steps. Our friendly team will be on hand to help you with each step and guide you through the practice. We just wanted you to know what to expect when you visit us.
